I.D pack

On steam they have an I.D games pack.

one of the games is Quake 1.
is this garenteed to work on windows 7 64bit?

I also remember trying to play a demo of Doom 3 once and the resolution
was incorrect and i got bored trying to fix it.

do these games all work in windows 7 ?

For quake 1 it says: Minimum: A 100% Windows XP/Vista-compatible computer system

You can take this one of two ways, the first is that Windows 7 nor 64bit is mentioned, so you could presume it wont work. The second is that it does say it supports Vista, and as we know most the time if it runs on Vista it runs on 7...

Check the steam forums for the game, usually there will be a sticky or popular post concerning issues with said game.

I got the Quake pack last year. All Quakes work fine on Win 7 64bit.

Yep, works fine here as well, as do all the expansions for Q1 too.

I think you need to edit an .ini file if you want to run at some of the higher resolutions but the game works perfectly otherwise. Even the original Doom runs fine .... though the graphics!

I bought it last year and couldn't get Quake 2 to run on my XP machine. I am a spazz though.

Q2 ran fine for me, though one of the expansions didn't run that well (can't recall what OS re : Q2).

Got the I.D pack last night and it works fine

I was amazed that Quake was only 55mb

This is true!

For the price, it's really worth it. As others have mentioned, it is worth it for D00M III

Yeah, I think the full install back in the day of the second wake was only like 300 MB or so? O.o

The original quake was awesome though, I THINK I preferred the firsts darker tone.

quake itself will need a dx9 patcher, but seeing as this one is officially through steam I'd be pretty confident it will just install and play like any other game.
