I dont get this?

Ive been messing with my cpu cooler fan speed and a lower fan speed keeps cpu cooler by a good 3c, then a higher fan speed. How on earth is that possible:eek::confused:
 
Fans don't create much heat like that. The most likely cause for this issue is the increased wind speed causing turbulence that no longer flows through the cooler fins smoothly. The increased flow backups in front of the fins and thus creates drag.,
 
Hatman has it - there is a thing called the optimal airflow pattern. And I guess your set up works best with a slightly lower air speed.
