I think I want one, because my friend has one and although it doesn't seem to understand him half the time... it seems quite useful on the xbone .

If I didn't get one with my console is it a worthwhile purchase as an extra?
I never used the one I bought for my 360, but then it wasn't so well integrated.

A complete waste of money imo.. MS have pretty much ditched it so there is little motivation for developers to utilize it, it was bundled with the console on release otherwise I wouldn't have bothered, total rubbish.

I find it very useful, mostly just for major browsing the system, usually whilst searching for my controller or turning other things on.

In games the friends snap, messages and mostly Record that functions are good.

Getting a real lot of use for in game FH2 use setting up the GPS is VERY quick.

Since the various updates I have found it nearly has a 100% track of what I say with it.

This post is total rubbish.

I think it's great, xbox turn on, xbox snap, Xbox unsnap, xbox record that, Xbox go to, makes navigation/use so simple.

TO add also the likes of Netflix make good use of it, play pause, forward, volume controller ( even over IR to your amp)

People forget it can controller your TV and Av and Sky box etc to all switch on in one command etc.

Kinect is far from useless, but I have to admit I don't use it over the controller most of the time.

Still, there's something cool as **** about being able to walk in and wake your console and TV by voice command, sit down and crack on.

The mic was built to be for gaming only to not confuse the two, it think they are routed completely seperatly in the system.

I personally think kinect is quite useful and rarely have to repeat myself using the commands. I use it a lot on Netflix/now tv and mostly for the "Xbox, record that" command. I've always said you can do without but I'd rather have it. Oh and the missus uses it for Xbox fitness here and there and it tracks the movement well and then there's Skype if you use it.

Mines never seen the light of day, still wrapped in its plastic in the box, it's a gimmick imo but I'll hold onto it just incase some AAA title makes good use of it one day...but I doubt it.

RIP Kinect, games utilising it will slowly disappear and it will remain as a fancy remote control.

Agreed, just another jealous PS4 owner, all they care about is slight resolution drops and not what really matters, the kinect is awesome, can't wait to use it with Plex later today, a Plex app is something else they are moaning about the Xbox One getting, why don't they just buy one. :D

They could have done that with a £1 microphone built into the controller, the simple fact is Microsoft invested a lot of money into Kinect and wanted a return on it.
