I nearly got folded today!! One of those big quarry dump trucks tried to turn my little Smart (RIP :() into a hood ornament as I was waiting to turn right into a petrol station. Jeremy Clarkson might think it's the 'gayest car in the world', but I'm sure I own my life to the Smart Tridiron Safety Cell!

You should have parped to let him know you were there. ;)

I saw a brand new Civic get crushed by an articulated lorry turning right once. I've never seen an old man bail out of a car so fast!

Your just bitter because we will stomp you in 7 days ;)

bah! Anything could happen in the next 7 days - though possibly not anything involving enough firepower to hold you two off :p
I should be getting stomped 4 times over the next 7 days - maybe I'd better get hold of a Smart pretty quick

Looks like you lost two rear doors in the squeeze there too...
... good to hear that you're OK though.

Years ago had a dust up with a fast-moving Porsche (it hit me) which carved the car clean (odd word to use in this context) in 2 pieces - good to be alive after that. So I have an idea how you are feeling.

Most important to get along to an injuries specialist to knead that back otherwise you'll feel it badly in a few months time and forevermore. ...even if you don't feel it now. Humble words of advice...

On second look I've only just realised what you're saying about the safety cell, I have to agree with you on that one as I think with any typical small car you'd be lucky to still have a head

Most crash testing seems to concentrate on car/car impacts or car/wall impacts rather than a hulking great truck totally clearing your bumper and trying to peel the roof off.

nfoulger - sounds like very good advice there
