I don't want a job

My other half suggested this to me the other night, I like the sound of it.

A job is a job, regardless of what it is, beggers can't be choosers and all that.

Spot on! I think parents can get milk stamps or something like that for their children up to a certain age, so I'm sure its an easy enough system to implement.

I had said for the past foure years at work, simple have a deal where buy those on benefits receive a food drop from the government of the basic requirments, but all made up of value brands, vouchers is another good idea, but lets remember they will simply sell them on to buy fags and booze.

You make the stamps only redeemable with a benefits identification card.

Just take them out into the street and execute them.. Better still..

"Good morning sir, here to sign on?" *click* BANG!!
do that as soon as you lose your job, nobody would DARE claim benefits in future..

Failing that, concentration camps, manadatory expulsion of all holders of non-uk passports.

It's almost as if he thinks everyone does their job for the fun of it.

Granted, some do their job because they love every aspect of it. Quite a lot of people on the other hand will find their job interesting, but don't enjoy all of it. And ultimately they all work in order to ensure they can enjoy the benefits of the better things in life they can then pay for and probably more importantly have that sense of self worth and accomplishment.

This man has no aspirations what so ever. He's a leech and should be turned out onto the streets. Balls to the inhumaneness of it all, it's inhumane to make people work their knackers of for other people to live for free. That's effectively slavery. We are all slaves to this pig. Scum bag. Makes me sick.

The problem is that too many people who work dont get the benefits of the better things in life. For so many people including me and my wife what you earn only just covers your outgoings, and with the cost of living going up, and where I live 1 in 10 are unemployed as their are no jobs, which means employers like mine have stopped giving pay rises, it really is hard to see the benefit of working. :(

They could have names on and you would have to show ID when using them :)

Take his kids off him. Force him to sell his body and give all procedes to to the Government. How can they justify giving this scrote money but are making 10 people redundant at my workplace.

From what was on the tv yesturday I have had a 10% pay decreae in the last three years, everything has increased, foos prices at the moment are mental, my weekly shop which was £60 is now £80-90 every week.

I bet there are jobs. Its probably the same as where I live , I often hear people where I live saying there are no jobs, which always puzzles me because every single night I open the local paper and see jobs advertised and the local council job page has stacks and stacks of jobs advertised all the time. As I say, I suspect what the people where I live really mean is not that "there are no jobs" but "there are no jobs that I want".

You have a local council that actually has jobs? amazing.. nottingham city council is cutting its budget by about 30million this year, and part of that comes from scrapping about 500 jobs...

I don't generally respond to these posts, but I will this time.

We can all bitch and moan about people like this, but until someone comes up with a realistic solution there is nothing we can do. Everyone blames the government, but I'm sure they'd rather spend money on other things (themselves?) than on this waster, so they have their best people trying to work out a solution. But what are the choices?

Stop his benefit? - He still needs money to survive and without any education he'll turn to crime.
Force him to clean the streets - Hardly fair on whoever's job that is right now and would the streets even get cleaned properly if he isn't motivated.
If kids are involved, stop their child benefit and free housing - Not fair on the kids to condemn them based on their parents decisions. A better approach might be to publicly announce a date in the future from which free housing will not be given (or maybe a restriction to just a flat and no more)
Force the unemployed into training - Those that want to be trained are already doing it (there's enough help already). Those that don't will just be wasting more resources.
Military service - This one might be the best. I'm not a military man, but instilling discipline into a person at an early age might make up for the discipline they didn't get while growing up. Can also instill a sense of pride.

As for the lack of jobs, I think the answer is a 4 day week/3 day weekend. This would create more jobs to maintain the level of production and lower inflation as everyone would have their wages cut by a fifth. It would be hard for most for a while, but cost of living would soon lower in line with what people can afford and eventually with another day 'free time' the service sector could boom (if they adjust prices accordingly).

Yup, our local council almost always has street cleaners or binmen or some form of cleaner in a council building advertised.

Such a shame that the system can abused like this.

When me and my mum were made homeless it was a life saver and trying to get a job was a complete nightmare because nobody was hiring that didn't have experience. I scoured for a job daily and finding one without needing experience was a like finding diamond in someone's toilet.

Well over 100 at the job centre website within 15 miles of Wolvehampton, but yes the current system is being changed for the better, you should never be better off on the dole then working. One thing that iretates me is this right to live where I want, I have to live where I can afford so should they.

The way the system is setup, if someone can live off £65, or whatever people get, and not work, then people will use that system to live that way.

Obviously people are saying this guy is this, that and the other but at the same time, he's also brutally honest, he dosent want to work and thanks to the system, he doesnt have to.

Dont hate the player, hate the game, thats what needs changed.

Both that and "There are no jobs that I can walk to".

The attitudes of some people nowadays are absolutely shocking. Mention sitting on a bus for an hour either way to work and they'll look at you like you just threatened to rape their gran.
