Which should I buy as a Christmas present to myself? Hazro 27inch or Samsung 3d with the funky stand?:) oh and it's for gaming i.e bf3 and skyrim and the like.

Hi there,

Since you are running an Nvdia graphics card then the Samsung 3D monitors will not work in full 1080p@60Hz (per eye) 3D like they do on AMD cards (via display port). With this in mind I would strongly suggest going for one of the certified 3D Vision monitors if you have your heart set on 3D gaming (something like this would be great - using the new 3D vision v2 lightboost tech).

That said, I would personally go for the Hazro. The IPS panel is pure quality and the 2560x1440 resolution is wonderful to behold, certainly a big step up in image quality from 1080p TN panels. The Hazros aren't as fast as the 120Hz TN panel monitors, but they are generally considered "fast enough" for all but the most frantic gaming.

Personally I would buy Hazro, as I already got one :) I was lucky and got it for £350 from OC. I did play few games on it i.e Battlefield 3, The Witcher 2, and some other and for me this panel is fast enough.
Yes, it not support 3D so here you will have to decide what is more important to you. But the Asus VG278H 27" which cmndr_andi have linked it set you back around £200 more.

The Hazro is nice at the price point ... still on offer if you hurry ... (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-013-HO) or you could wait out till January

TBH, I'm not sold on this 3D business. I mean I bought a 1.4K TV (Pan TX-50GT30), sure it has 3D but I'm not planning on using it.... but I didn't have a choice ( I wanted a top plasma ) and they all have 3D :(

Go for Hazro
