So basically guys, I've got a Mac Mini 2010/11 model, but i've upgraded it with 8GB's of ram instead of the original 4GB.

The problem I face is, is this;

I want to get back into computer gaming, Starcraft II, other new games that are going to be coming out relatively soon, (Portal etc), I don't want to be limited to just my xbox 360, but! I cannot face leaving my Mac behind, I just don't have enough on my desk for two computers + my 360, tv etc.

>.<;

I'm so unsure of what to do, I want to PC game but I cannot leave my Mac behind, should I just stick with the Mac and try and work it out with the 360?

Anyone else been in this situation?

These decisions are always tough - if you're using your mini then stick with it but if the mini is not being used then maybe it's not for you?

I've gone down the MBP for work and 360 for games route and it suits me fine but it's not for everyone.

If your mini has a 9400m in it or above it'll play SC2 on low graphics settings without a hitch, I do it on my late 2008 macbook and it runs perfect :)

You don't have enough room? A mac mini isn't exactly huge; just put it on top of your PC case. Then use the same monitor for both and have wireless kb and mice which can go away when not in use.

It's a fairly big desk, but i don't really have room for like 2 keyboards, 2 mice etc, as my gaming keyboard is a full size gaming keyboard, I have the full size Apple keyboard also!

I use my Mac mini an awful lot, more so for work, Flash editing, Dreamweaver work and so on, >.<;

I would love to try and sell my mac mini and put that money towards a MBP, but that could take some time, as i'm not sure how easy it is to sell MM's on ebay or whatever.

but that's a good idea actually, put it on top of the pc case and save myself some room! good idea! I like that! :P

Easy.

Do a small form factor gaming machine, with something like one of those cute Lian Li cases that can fit full length cards like a 580 and stick the Mac Mini on top of it. It's not like you're going to need loads of drives and multiple cards for your needs.

Mice are tiny, non-issue (esp if you're using the Magic Mouse, just stick it to the side)

Keyboard:
a) sell both keyboards and get something like a decent mechanical one which is compatible with both OS's, and just plug it in which ever system you're using and learn to ignore the Windows button/caps lock e.t.c.
b) make something that will prop whichever keyboard you're not using on it's side/upright so it's out the way. Buy a block of foam and cut a channel for the kb to sit in, wedge it in between something. Get creative. Have your 360 vertical if it isn't already so it takes up less of a footprint. Blah blah blah.

£100?! pffffffffft! :P hehe.

I mean, the main problem I face on a daily basis is that at the moment I'm back on my PC for gaming purposes, but I miss my Mac all the time, I have like hourly urges to go back to it, I miss the mouse, I miss the keyboard, I miss the interface and so on, Windows is just not the same, but at the same time, I like having an amazingly fast gaming machine! it's so hard, both my keyboards are unable to fit on one desk due to them both being full size and the Razer Lycosa even more so due to it being a 'gaming keyboard' I did try and space them out, but sadly, it didn't work out.

If my desk was slightly bigger, it would have fit!
A few other things come into play, such as:

Mac doesn't support my headset (Turtlebeach X11) and only has 4 usb slots and although I've got a magic mouse, I could still use more! :(

Wish I had a MBP so badly, I wouldn't have this problem if I did! stupid me for rushing into buying a mac mini! :( I just wanted it there and then!

If you boot into Windows and play that version of it you'll be able to run it at medium/high graphics with high FPS.

OS X versions of games are terrible.
