Well i sold my iMac and decided to come back to gaming... I just spent almost £1800..

- Intel Core i7 4790
- Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5
- 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Pro Series Silver, PC3-17066 (2133)
- Gigabyte GTX 780Ti OC WINDFORCE 3GB
- Samsung 840 EVO 500GB
- 2TB Seagate ST2000DM001 Barracuda 7200.14 SATA 3 6GB/s 7200rpm 64MB
- Corsair Carbide Series Air 540
- Corsair H100i
- 850W Corsair HX850 Hybrid Modular
- 27" Dell UltraSharp U2713HM

Anything else i should add?

Friends have got a 4770k (I also had one for a while, OC'd very well) - seems like a ruddy bugger to OC for most without delidding and thought may aswell go for the 4790 since it was cheaper and faster on stock. I dont really OC much anyway, not until i need it.

May spring for "K" type chip when broadwell hits. Main reason i went for Z97 is purely the price difference wasn't much and leaves me room to take advantage of a K chip if i ever go for one, H100i was purely as i think they look nice (yes, i am a sucker).

I tend to buy all out, get as much longevity out of the PC as possible.

Sorry if this sounds harsh.
You're spending £1800, £25 difference for an important part like a heatsink isn't even a drop in the ocean.
**More so if you may at some point overclock this or the next chip you get.

In for a penny, in for a pound.

Hehe no, good point. Changed to H105.
