After more than 2 years and more hours than I care to remember, I have cancelled my subscription.

I'm not going to go anti-wow as some people do, I just got bored. Time to give this real life idea a go. I understand the graphics are quite nice :D

Mate got me it for christmas, I got to level 13 the other day, but im bored of it now, how can you play it for 2 years?

ive played it for 4 years now and it gets better and better, still playing with the people i leveled up with.

Never played it, never will. Hate those types of games, so well done for entering the real world. The only person who I know who plays it is the Ginger Troll, a "female" with dodgy teeth and as ugly as sin, who works in the office below mine.

That's nice and stereo typical of you

The game can be very enjoyable if you are playing with some mates, or if you are part of a guild.

I believe I played it for about 3 months, then packed it in.

How is that stereo typing as I only know one person who admits to playing it? I did not say all players were like that.

Give it a few months and you'll be back playing it again.

The game doesn't really start taking off until after lvl 30

i played it for about 10 months but quit because A i needed to save money and B everyone said i was being unsociable. Sometimes i actually miss playing it :(

I played way too long, and I got bored so I stopped :)
The game gets repetitive after a while and boring!

Yeah, the graphics are pretty nice on Real-Life, but it takes years and years and years of grinding to get any decent loot, the GMs are crazy with power and you can hardly say or do anything without getting punished for it and the permadeath kinda sucks.

You don't need to say all players are like that, you only need to describe the one person in enough detail.

OP, i was in exactly the same situation as you, jumping around the roof of the auction house waiting to raid and i realised that i eventually after 2 years of playing got bored of it.

No other MMO's have been as good as World of Warcraft since i quit.

i played it for the 10 day free trial and eventually went out and bought the game and burning crusade... played it til lv38 or 40... realised the game wasnt for me and quit :P

last mmo i played was WAR, it was good but way too repetitive, so after forking out 60quid for the CE box, i quit playing after that free month, and all my mates decided to go play WotLK instead. -.-

Have to admit, i dont see how its so addictive as i really think the game is crap, its just so boring leveling up as its the same thing over and over!

I did get slightly addicted to guild wars for about a month, then just play that occasionally now, enjoyed that a lot more than wow.

I enjoyed WoW a lot. I played for 2 Years on and off. Had good gear and even a Spectral Tiger mount. I just gave up in the end as I was putting far to much time on it. And it finally hit me that my real life is much more important then reputation in a game.

A very good game which I truly enjoyed but It just started to lack that pull it once had on me.

I decided to return to wow, only to my surprise to get an email saying I was permanently banned for gold farming, all I was doing was levelling up on my own at lvl 14, ridiculous. I was so busy with other things in real life that I've just left it, i wont protest my innocence as the game isnt even worth my time or money, not anymore.

I would say that the game don't really take off until lv80. However, only if you want to raid. I raided end content in TBC and quit raiding for good when Wrath hit. I started a priest 2 months ago with the aim to be a casual PVP player but RL happened and I've only done 58 levels (mate levelled most of it for me) and are slowly loosing interest. For me, if you don't raid, WoW is almost not worth it.

Most of the people detest the leveling and grinding involved but the content you do once you've reached the maximum level is rather addictive.

when i still played it was the other way around. pve was the boring part but essential for the competitive advantage.
I've stopped playing for over 2 months now but in few more months Ill probably be playing again (peer pressure lol).
