I fixed this problem, but I wondering what it was?

Hiya

Woke up this morning to my comp just being stuck on the boot screen with a lot of info. I have a pic but I don't know how to upload it on here.

It was basically just stuck with info like DDR2 800 Unganged Mode just sitting on the screen, but the F9/F12/Delete or ESP buttons wasn't taking to any of the options listed, it was just frozen on that screen.

A few times I booted it and it would go from that screen to just black and white checkers all over my monitor... which was worrying lol.

I unplugged (I think) the battery wire and left it for a min or two and started it up again and it worked. Windows 7 then updated so I imagine thats what It rebooted itself in the first place.

I'm just curious as to what might of caused this problem, and more importantly, is it likely to happen again if I reboot? Slightly afraid to check lol.

Black & white checkers on screen sounds like a GPU problem?

Could be a loose connection. Check your graphics card power connectors, and check if your video card is sitting flush into the PCIE slot.

Gigabyte board? Mine started to do this and i did a deep cmos clear. Battery out for 24 hours, pin jumped and power cable out. It sorted the issues out. I had overclocked no end with it, changing everything 100+ times a day
