Now what do I do

Do I have to attend classes, or can I go straight for the theory test?

Also, will it matter to the insurance if I went on an intensive course, rather than took the prescribed amount of hours of practical testing? Do driving schools offer warm-up classes before intensive courses?

Cheers in advance :)

find a driving instructor in the yellow pages and book some lessons, they'll sort everything else out. sat my theory after 2 months of driving lessons :)

insurance don't care how you got your license as long as its legit.

You can do your theory test whenever you want.

I just passed with the AA, lessons are quite expensive but they came well recommended, and I passed in 17 lessons over 8 weeks which seemed OK to me.

Plus you do get a year's free AA membership.

I booked the theory test immediately, and there was a 2 week waiting list

I then bought a qusetion and answer book which I swotted for hours every night for a week (pointless really, the test isn't THAT hard but I really didn't want to fail. I also bought 'Roadsense DVD'

I passed the theory and started taking lessons, booking my test as I started lessons. Half way through lessons I bought a CHEAP car and insured it so that I could get extra time in car without paying for it.

I failed first test, second test and succeeded on third. Once I had a year's no claims, I bought a more expensive car.
