Hey,

So all my life i have never been a gamer, i bought a PS2 just so i could play Grand Theft auto and two days ago i purchased a PS3 with COD4 and a couple of accesories.

I didn't even know the thing could install an operating system, music, videos, photos and tonnes more.

After playing COD4 for a few hours then also online with a friend, i can honestly say i love it and i class myself as a gamer i could sit here all day and play it, definetly the best console.

What game do you think i should get next?

So what have you done to your PS3 is there any applications you reccomend? :)
 
I stuck Tversity on mine and stream videos and what not to it from my HTPC in the living room, also got a few ps1 games and set up remote play to my PSP.

I would say most people on these forums have not installed a Linux OS on their PS3s. But the list of apps would be the usual I guess. Firefox, an IM client, VLC etc. It is just Linux so it's not like the applications do anything special with the ps3 specifically.

For games there is a lot to recommend, Inoshishi has some list that he is always copying and pasting that may help.

Of the games I have played in the last year whcih I think every owner should play (whether rented or bough) would be:

Motorstorm (buy/rent)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma (rent)
Heavenly Sword (buy/rent)
Ratchet and Clank (buy)
Uncharted (BUY)

If you have only played a ps3, and not a wii or 360, how can you say its definetly the best console, especially since the 360 version of COD4 is identical? :p

Formula 1 is a great game, with great online races if you like racing, Virtua Fighter 5 a great fighter, The Bigs a great baseball game.
 
i have all the consles
ps3 has the best exclusive games
xbox is the best all rounder and has the most features
wii isnt worth the money [should have got a gamecube off ebay for a tenner!!!]

some games like SKATE look better on the 360 and most Xplatform games are badly ported on ps3

orange box looks bad on the consoles but amazing on PC as does oblivion.
 
If you thought COD 4 was good online at the moment then it's going to be the best game you'll ever play when they release these damn patches lol.

They were promised from IW nearly 3 months ago. Same as always though with IW.

COD4 has been patched? Im sure there's a mercenary team death match now and it all seems to match make much faster than before.
