Thought I would mess around with my voltages and see if I could get a little bit more out of the old girl for 24/7 use.

UD3P and Q9650 on air (True black push pull fan config)
9x467 (4.2GHZ)
24Hrs+ Prime small and blend stable

Not bad for a newb OC'er. This combo of board and chip are unbelievable. If I can overclock this high with them anyone can!

Nice one. What voltage are you using now?

Try and go further :)

VCore 1.36250v (bios) 1.328v (cpu-z)
LLC enabled
VTT 1.34v
MCH 1.36v
ICH 1.3v

I would have to mess around with GTL voltages to go further and being a newb I confess that I dont understand how to set them!

I may try and go for 4.4 but not to run 24/7

Nice clock

I was looking at your mobo/chip combo the other week! There was a UD5 and I7 that went really cheap on a 'auction site'. would have been a steal. To be honest not sure the price/performance would have been worth the upgrade though. I mostly encode (no gaming) so there would have been an improvement but probably not enough to warrent the outlay. Especially as I dont think my OC'ing skills are polished enough to achieve the 4GHZ you have yours at.

Mine was fairly easy, I just did lots of reading, I'm on my second chip though to crack 4Ghz stable, first one needed 1.4v to get 3.8Ghz.

Your right though, I don't think you would gain much, especially as your passed 4Ghz already.

Keep pushing for more, would be nice to see it at 4.4 or 4.5Ghz, your temps are nice, think mine are higher and I'm under water.

Right here's where im at right now. Vcore is at the max im prepared to take it to. Im also getting to the limits temp wise. Im currently an hour into priming. I also seem to have hit a wall as I cant get past 4.3GHZ stable no matter what voltages I throw at it. Still not bad for a newb though :)

VCore (bios) 1.4325v (cpu-z) 1.408v idle 1.392v load
VTT 1.36v
MCH 1.38v
ICH 1.3v

Very good overclock on air that is, those boards are meant to be great for Quads I was thinking of getting one myself, but the thought of draining my loop and sourcing mosfet blocks has put me off.
Seeing as I am at 467x9 stable anyway no point.
Great these Q9650s are for clocking.
