I got the wrong mouse :(

Hello all,

This is my first post and I am hoping for a little advice. I have just built my first rig et all.

Got me first gaming mouse - Razer Deathadder. Fantastic mouse, but it's too big for me as I hold the mouse with my finger tips. I just don't find it easy to use.

I'm looking for a mouse thats is a bit smaller. Have used a Logitech LX3 - it's just the right size but not good enough for FPS.

I have found the Razer Abyssus recommended by Savvy in another thread - the one thing that puts me off is the lack of 2 side buttons especially to change dpi on the fly. The under side button on the Abyssus dosen't seem user friendly to use during a fast game. Have also looked at the Roccat Kova but there is no software to configure the buttons.

Anyone have any other suggestions for a good gaming mouse that works with the fingertip grip?

Thanks!

I tend towards the fingertip grip (I have long, narrow fingers) and the G5 was a noticeable improvement over the DeathAdder for me. Same shape as as the MX518.

Logitech G500 here, got it as an rma replacement for a G5, very nice mouse to use as my fingers are pretty long.

It seems a lot of people rate the mx518 and G5. I think I will see if my local PC shops stock these mice so I can get a better look at them.

I've got long thin fingers, and from what I can gather, most people like me use the finger tip grip.

Is this type of grip in the minority? It seems most mice are made for the palm/claw types.

The G500 is a good bet too. I think it's the replacement for the G5. The purple shirts shop had them in last time I went there.

razer coperhead or mx518 it is for you then , however i found deathadder is better then mx518 for me i guess its personal opinion.

I prefer my G500 over the MX518, but as someone said before its all a personal oppinion. Best bet is to find a shop which has them in stock and feel for yourself (or ask your mates).

If you want something small to hold with fingertips then G9 / G9X.

Know they're bit pricey but hey, it will probably serve you many years so its worth every penny.

If not then G500 but it's not really that small. Perfectly shaped but you'd rather rest your whole palm on it.

OT, doesn't the MX518 lack the 'side button clicking' on the wheel?
And it didn't have a weights either if I remember correct ?

2 must have options for me since ever I bought my G5 years ago.

MX518 has no side scroll or weights, but I have used a G500, and never used either on that and I went back to my MX518
