:( I guess my monitor is on it's way out already

Only had it about 4 months, bought from here.
Sometimes the shadow starts after 2 minutes, sometimes after 2 hours.

I need to switch the monitor off and on again to get rid of it. As you can see, it's not graphics card/cable related because it does it even when the PC is in sleep mode.

I guess I need to send it back?

I'd take a guess that you've got a dicky backlight in there. Definitely a return/warranty replacement. If OCUK will handle it, that's probably quicker than going via LG...
