..whilst waiting for the train home I had my powershot handy for some experimentation. I kind of like the reflection from the train. Hope you like.

Thanks guys - gotta work the overtime due to camera/lens expenditure ;)

I'll try and leave a bit earlier Friday and get it perfect. Shame I have miss trains to get the shot!

I definitely prefer it with the train - adds some interest to the side. Any chance that you could take the picture with a train coming into the station from Canary Wharf direction, ie on the other track. I have a feeling that it won't dominate the shot as much then

I did have a go at this, do you think it's better?

They're both good as it stands, but if you could take it with a longer exposure so that the train gets almost to the platform, that would be great. Combine that with a hint of colour in the sky and you've got an extremely classy shot (all IMO, of course)

How do you actually go about doing something like this. Came down the M6 the other day and there were groups of peeps doing photography from a bridge at the traffic. Not police officers.

In my case, I always commute from East India station to Bank, and I have my compact camera with me, so, I rested it on the platform edge and set it up at F8 for a 4 second exposure just to see if I can get a good shot of the types of things i see pretty much each day. The key is to go into manual mode, stop down(goto F8-F11) and expose for a few seconds according to the effect you're trying to create. It's fun!
