Ok so a game I bought and paid for I can't do with as I would like.

I don't see how I should be force to hand over my personnel details to someone, which is linked to my PSN id I might add. So they can play a game that I owned.

In that case I would like my account completely deleted from you system. I will then setup a new account when I feel like it

Regards

Hello Jason,

Thank you for providing us with your account information.

I am sorry, a registration code can only be used to create one account. If it has previously been used to create an account, you cannot use it again to create a new account.

The person who has purchased the game, will need to login using your account name with which you have registered the game.

If there is anything else we can help you with please let us know.

Best Regards,

Grace

Hi I have sold my copy of BF2142 but the new user can not use it as its tied to my EA account.

Is there something you can do, or I can do that will allow the CD Key to be released so they can setup their own account with EA

Regards

If anyone knows what I can message them to get this sorted I would be grateful

You could read the EULA and see that you don't have the right to sell the licence to play the game to another party?

Thats even worse, well I shouldn't expect much from EA. Do I have the right to ask that my account is deleted ?

Yes, but not to have your key freed for further use.

Such clauses are common in most games, not just EA ones, they are just more enforcable with online games where you really are primarily buying the licence, and the physical disk is just an enabler.

Its been awhile since I used the game.

If I setup another user profile, does it have to have the same password as my main EA account.

The main reason for not giving my login to the person I sold it to is the password is the one I use for a lot of stuff.

EA will provide a new key to whoever bought the game from you though. they will ask for a photocopy/scan of the front and back covers of the manual (clearly showing the used CD key) and will email the person back with a new CD key to use.

Had to do this when i bought an 'opened but unregistered' copy of of BF2142 from the bay.

Would they have to pay though?

Because if they give out and new CD Key, would that mean mine would still work?

Because that would mean they would be giving away the game for free?

They didnt charge me, just told them i bought it off ebay but the key has been registered and shouldnt have been.

Think i had to fax a photocopy of the front and back cover through (was in work and no scanner) and a few hours later they emailed me a new CD key - dont know if they lock out the one you send them though.

The thing I hate is when they say 'By opening this box you agree to the license conditions' and the actual license conditions are printing in the manual in the box (so can't be examined before you open the box).

In fact, such practice is common by games producers, but 100% against the law (and damn ridiculous if you think about it).

Well they have asked that the buyer contact them with their details and a scan of the manual.

I know why they make its so difficult, but it still bugs me
