i hate HP

hello i bought a hp laptop and 1month after the warranty ran out
the gpu burnt out, i call them and they say it would cost me £230+

but i dont get it because if the gpu burnt out then wont that mean i wont be able to play games(yet i still can with more than acceptable performance)
the only downside is that it takes ages to turn on, and i had to return to factory settings, losing all my collage work and now i failed cos i couldnt get all my papers in on time
i failed cos of HP

should there be something legal i could do, or some sort of protection for me
since i only had it for 1yr
and i took care of as if it was my own child

Poor excuse you failed cos you didnt back up, its not hard to put a cd in or dvd in the drive and drag my documents to it now is it.

Some of these HP used a gpu that were produced faulty in the first place, if you do a google you might find a suprising amount of people have been hit by this manufacturing defect, a lot of manufacturers extended the warranty on some units by an extra year to compensate but its still bad in my eyes, a laptop should last more than 2 years. See what you can didg up on the net and take it from there.

i bought it directly from HP i cant believe i wasn't told about it before i bought it, since it took me 2yrs just to save up £380 and the fact that it broke 1yr after i got it really p**s me off

plus at the time i didn't have any disks to back the ones i done that night up.

and i worked the entire day

plus since im only 17 and my parents don't want nothing to with me about the computer.
i have no idea were to start, plus its conviniant that they all speak Indian once the warranty runs out

HP has always been rated in my book quite low, the issue you stated doesn't surprise me.

what is the actual issue, if you can still play games on it was has burnt out?

But yes, it's down to yourself to produce back up
