Learning to drive at the moment, done lessons in a 2010 Ford Fiesta and in a 2010 Renault Clio.

As a young learner driver you may expect me to like the clio more for its looks or whatever, but it is a really bad car compared to the fiesta.

Clio:
Bad points:

The handbrake is very strange and there are two stages for putting it down.
The indicator stalks are like what the:confused:
The pedals are horrible and squeaky.
Steering feels rubbery? I don't know how to explain.
Feels very cheap.

Pros:
Comfortable
The angle of the dials is good, they are slanted.

I don't see why anyone would buy one over the fiesta unless they wanted to be "different"

The earlier clio's had off centred pedals so it felt like you were twisted up all the time.

I learnt on a clio... not a 2010 one tho heh... and felt quite disconnected from the road in it, both the steering and peddles were hard to get a feel for the relationship between your input and the effect it would have on the car.

Yes exactly what I was trying to say, have a cookie :)

Cant compare the clio and the fiesta. However I spent time in 3 different cars while learning to drive.

1.4 TDi Polo MY56
1.3CTDi Astra MY59
1.3 Yaris MY09

Overall the yaris was the best of the three in terms of feel and drivability, the astra was very underpowered and was gutless if you dropped off the boost, the polo was middle of the road with nothing being bad about it. However they are completly different to my Golf, everything feels so much stiffer in the Golf, I do miss power steering though

Might be test driving one next week because of that stupid good lookers deal. Maybe i shouldnt! Sounds like there might be no turning back!

Yeh thats what prompted me to get and drive one, I liked it so much I asked for an extended drive on sunday :o

Now to find a job where £200 a month is pocket money :(

Same here, I drove it for about 20 or so minutes. I had to take it back before I bought it there and then. I put the sensible hat on.

Take one for a drive Jono, I gaurntee you will loveit.

I know :(

That's what i am afraid of!

Damn Renault dealer near me doesnt have one and only has a 197 cup to test drive though. Might need to go further a field.
