I hate the VXR forums sometimes

A friend reported him via email to the local police there and they emailed him back.

Dear XXX,

Further to my original response. The driver of the vehicle concerned has been arrested and charged with dangerous driving.

I am aware that this particular post received quite a lot of interest on the site and I would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention.

There's no way the police emailed you saying they arrested him.

What are you, a CI??

Heh...

Do the police usually send emails to members of the public regarding the progress of criminal cases?

Would you like me to get him to forward on the emails to you as proof?

I certainly had an email from my local police station when I reported the retard that used to tear up and down on his quad bike.

The person reporting is an ex member of here:

Dear Mr xxx,

Thank you for your email.

I have passed the details to our road policing unit for their attention.

Hi,

I have found information online that shows a case of dangerous driving
and I would like to report it.

The owner of a corsa with the reg of LR08 EOY has posted a video of
themselves speeding in a residential zone.

A link to the forum thread with the video:
http://www.vxronline.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=62510

The video links to a photobucket account with the username
tom_mackey1188 and has lots of photos of the car in question and is
where I got the reg number from.

I think the whole 'shopping him to the police' thing is a bit much really. Most people have done worse on the roads. Especially if the guy that did it was his mate. But meh...

I fail to believe the police would email back with the outcome of a criminal case - if anything it would just be "thank you for bringing this matter to our attention"

well the email is there for you to read, or I can get him to email it on to you if you like.

And being arrested and charged isn't really the outcome, that comes after he goes to court.
