I hate the VXR forums sometimes

I cannot believe the posts on that xvr forum. They just seem to harp on about 'grassin', not being part of the comunity, then hassling Mr Lol saying he must have been speeding sometime etc etc.

No logic in their arguments at all, but I can guess that they don't understand some of your points, so just revert to chilidsh name calling and bumming each other as they are all 'part of a community'.

Well done to whoever sent the police that muppets details...... In a word...... OWNED :D

No, a genuine ACS from factory, rescued from a barn. It has Type 1 Performance, Handling, Interior and Aerodynamic packs.

Very nice and too rare to be raced, look after it!

What was the build no and what was done for the Type 1 performance pack?

I agree on the comment about the people in that thread being a stereotypical bunch of chavs. I've browsed a few owners forums over the years, but that attitude does seem particularly prevalent on the VXR pages.

It was doggy when I found it, I got it up together mechanically (Apart from its imminent requirement for a new gearbox), and used it - I originally planned on getting it back into shape, but there was a lot of rust revealed at MOT time, which I managed to patch up myself, but to make a decent job of it all, it would really require a full restoration - The money I'd spend on that would buy me a faster E36 M3, so it never happened.

I have no idea what was done for the performance pack, I was unable to find much out about it, ACS UK didn't have records that far back, nor did the dealer, well, not on paper anyway.

In an odd set of circumstances, when I took the car to be MOTd, the owner of the garage almost had a fit, he claims to have test driven it, and was planning on purchasing it, but someone else got in their first with the cash - he directed me to a salesman at the local dealer who still works there today, who was able to tell me a bit more about the car.

In even more rare circumstances, the first time I picked my current girlfriend up in the car, she knew it, turns out, before it was barned, a very close friend of her family owned it.

So whatever information I have, is pieced together between those three people.

Yep, they get offended by the word chav yet nearly all of them match up to the criteria in their posts :D

I actually think the Corsa VXR is a good little car and have said so before. It's probably the best hot hatch Vauxhall have made in many years and certainly better than the Astra version and yes I have driven one, I was considering one for the wife and drove one of the first demonstrators at Steve Thompson in Lichfield. Fact is most VXR's are not the most delicate cars on the road, but have their appeal, not least the Ozzy ones and the Lotus flavoured one, but don't try to imply they are top of the tree because simply they really aren't, though it could be argued that bang for buck is good, but money isn't the only factor one should consider.

However I suggest if you come here and start to criticise it's members and tarring them all with the same brush or suggesting that because they are geeks (most are, but what do you expect and what does it matter?) they know sod about cars you'll be made to look a fool. Plenty of knowledge here and some of us won't be impressed with your cars, well unless you have a Zonda or CGT, then I might raise and eyebrow...

Drove quite a number of them at BRands on the VXR day and they were good fun. But the inside felt a bit airy fairy and the ride was quite hard. Astra VXR was easily superior in my eyes.

But then again I was distincty unimpressed with the VXR8 and thought it was just a big wallowy saloon with a bit of grunt and a rumble. BUUUUUUT, it was absolutely honking it down with rain and I was scared of spinning into a barrier like some twerp did the day before.

Whos is the ' s***box on wheels' I wonder ;) The VXR corsa is a cracking fun little motor.

Still the Corsa :)
Mine is a damn comfy GT really

There are much better "hot" cars around, and you would have to be mad to buy the Corsa VXR over some of the used hot cars you can find.

Whats amusing is that a VXR will rinse a GT4 (I know a 205 for sure, and fairly certain about the 185) in anything but torrential conditions.

You keep dreaming of your overweight clapper.
