And I need a gaming rig.
I just need a motherboard, CPU, RAM and GFX card.
I could go a little over £500 by a couple of quid if needs be..
I want the PC to be Vista compatible and able to play the top games, IE, CS:S BF2.. :)
thanks :D

You could try this, the RAM isnt the best, but its good enough for a budget rig.

Gigabyte GA_965P_S3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
OcUK 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
HIS ATI Radeon X1950 Pro ICEQ 3 TURBO SILENT Heatpipe 256MB GDDR3

Total: £503.97 inc. Delivery

I've got an ATX2.0 Tagan PSU, it's SLi compatible, does the job well.

I don't need delivery, I live 2 minutes away :).. So will that ram do me for Vista and BF2 and more?

If you could go a touch higher it would be a great spec.

For example:

Gigabyte GA_965P_S3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
HIS ATI Radeon X1950 Pro ICEQ 3 TURBO SILENT Heatpipe 256MB GDDR3
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB)

Total: £518.13 inc VAT

Overclock the hell out of that and it would be great.

Also gives you the freedom to save for a better graphics card later ;)

cheers for the help guys, i could probably go a touch higher for that spec :)
;)

If its a gaming rig, people say £550-600 is the minimum needed.

But thats a great budget spec :)

Right.. I've decided, to stretch this build out over 2 pay packets and the sale of my Xbox 360! (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250071567798) :P:P... So anyway..

Gigabyte GA_965P_S3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
£84.59
Intel Core 2 DUO E6400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.13GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
£152.74
HIS ATI Radeon X1950 XT-X ICEQ 3 SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR4 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (H195XTX512DV-R)
£234.99
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK)
£176.24

Does that sound good to everyone? Sounds excellent to me.. And if I sell my current PC soon, it shall be completed BEFORE! my next pay pack :D..

Id get the E6300 and try squeeze the 8800GTS.

Yeah, me too, If you're really into your gaming you may as well make the jump to a directx10 part if you're buying a GPU now
