My license has gone from squeeky clean to 6 points in one month , 3 points for doing 40 in a 30 and 3 as front tyres don't meet safety standards

Will this greatly effect my job opportunity

Don't think it will affect your opportunity in the slightest.

I work at a transport company, and we have always been short of drivers - add in the uncertainty surrounding Brexit (which has already had an affect on the number of eastern european drivers), and companies will generally take anyone with a reasonable degree of competency.

9 Points or more would likely be a problem, due to the risk of being banned/versus time invested in training etc.

Thought someone would pick up on that , wheels weren't maintained because I was unemployed for a short spell all my savings have been going towards my training course and needed DIY .was going to get my tyres changed literally tomorrow , just real bad luck

Quit having a jab you Nazi
My auto correct is dyslexic

There's nothing more annoying someone correcting your spelling when your asking a question with more importance , wasn't that the intent though

Do you have a HGV licence already or are you looking to train?
A newly qualified driver may have a harder time obtaining a decent job, possibly look at agency work for a while, gives you experience plus the opportunity to get in somewhere who maybe looking for permanent staff.

Maybe 40-42 years back, armed with an HGV Class 1 licence, and 3 points on my regular driving licence, I was interviewed by a Yugoslavian company that were going to start delivering yachts overland from Reading, Berks. to the lakes in Northern Italy, the Adriatic Coast, Spain, and the South of France.
The female interviewer, (the sister of the owner), said, “Can you handle a LHD Mercedes tractor unit and trailer?” I replied in the affirmative, she asked if I spoke any other languages, I said, “I speak French almost fluently, a bit of German, a bit of Spanish, and a tiny bit of Polish.”
She asked if I had a clean licence, I said, “I have 3 points”, she said, “Who cares, can you start in 2 weeks time?”

I love your stories Jean, they cheer me right up.

Also, OP, when you wander around calling people Nazis (I'm assuming you're referring to a grammar nazi type situation) it would probably be better to make sure you were in the right first.

Glad to see that was probably no.15 of 17 posts, you'll be appreciated here. Naaat.

You might not struggle getting a licence but most companies I seem to see advertising ask for a clean licence.

A newly qualified driver with 6 points won't be impossible but won't be an easy in.

GL though driving big trucks is great fun.

From my experience of HGV drivers, you practically need 6 points on your licence before they'll hire you.

:p
