So I fancy some upgrades to my current rig - used for a mix of gaming, general usage and productivity such as Sony (Magix) Vegas.

A lot of the current rig is reusable, but this is my current setup:
  • Ryzen 2700X
  • Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 X470
  • 32GB 8-Pack B-die memory
  • EVGA GTX1080Ti FTW3
  • Lian-Li PC-011D
  • 2x 1TB NVMe M2 drives
  • Seasonic 750W platinum PSU
I game at 1440p, monitor is a GSYNC display.

Thoughts as to where I go from here? I have my own thoughts but would like to hear any other suggestions :)

Wait for next gen - both CPU and GPU.

That motherboard is mighty and 'if' AMD do carry through support for Zen 3 - that board should pay for itself again.

Nothing that really needs upgrading in my opinion. You could get something new but it would be marginal performance unless you really needed it.

3900/3950x maybe but it all depends how much you would benefit from it. If it’s worth it to YOU buy it that’s what I always say

But if you can’t justify it just save and wait for next gen. Put it towards something else etc.

When I get upgradeitus I usually just get myself a couple of cheap bits and bobs. few bits/mods for the case/desk area perhaps to keep me busy. Few cheap peripherals etc.

Although there isn’t really much worth upgrading to at the minute :p
