In May 2019 I bought a four year Malwarebytes licence. It was advertised on eBay as "MalwareBytes Anti-Malware PREMIUM 95% OFF Discount Code 4 Years Subscription" for $5.89. I totally expected it not to work but it went through successfully and I bought another one straight after, installed one on my iMac and one on my MacBook. With hindsight, the times on the emails I have are very late at night so I'd probably had a beer or two. I fully expected them to stop working after a week or so. They didn't.

Despite what I always say about not needing AV software on a Mac, I transferred the licence from my iMac to my Mac Studio and the one on my MacBook was moved to my M1 MBA and now it's on my M2 MBA. I paid for these licences and I hate throwing things away that I've paid for so I never took the time to specifically delete them.

Four years have gone and my licenses are due to expire.

Am I going to renew them? Not a chance. All they've done for the last four years is sit on my computers, using CPU cycles and not finding anything.

Poor quality image, I'm almost ashamed to post it

I can't remember the last time I had an infection. Mostly the best AV is common sense.
I'd like to say I use a lot of common sense when I'm browsing the internet but I don't go out of my way to avoid any places. If I come across one of those dodgy sites that starts flashing up all kinds of "you are infected" warnings, I just back away. I will never give anything super-user privileges unless I know what's asking for them and why.

I've never had any kind of nastiness on any computer, Windows or Mac.
