and i have no idea how to get it out.

I can see a black dot moving around the screen, anyone had this problem before?

Any tips on how to get it out?

thanks!

It's a thunderfly. Happens to loads of people in Summer, all you can do is hope it crawls out before it dies there.

I thought they were attracted to light, could try turning the screen off and putting a desk light over it and hope it crawls out? My dad got three in his dell a bit ago, they all died but over a period of a year or so must have fallen out/decayed!

This. I had one at work last week, weirded the hell outta me, thought it was some moving dead pixel. Then I had my coffee..

Turn you monitor off for at least 30 mins and turn on any nearby lights, worked for me the first time I tried it.

Good Luck!

Let it die, RMA screen saying it is a line of dead pixels, hope retailer doesn't employ an entomologist.

There's been a bug living in my monitor, I called Samsung and they said I can either try unplugging the monitor, twisting it to portrait and then shaking it to see if the bug falls out the vents. Or to put the monitor in a bin bag, put a hoover nozzle in the bag and seal it tight, the hoover should be able to suck the bug out. I've tried neither of these as I couldn't be bothered with the hassle, I'll give it a go when I have time.

I just RMA-ed my monitor and said it's a design flaw to allow bugs to get in. Monitor was swapped onsite at work 3 days later (LG).

My Dell now has 2 of these bugs and I cannot be bothered to RMA again, don't have the receipt for it either.

Samsung didn't agree with me on that one, they're argument was that it got through the vent but surely a bug shouldn't be able to crawl through the vent and then through the screen to be in front of the actual display?

You shouldnt need the reciepts for Dell. The code on the back was enough for me.

Cool, I have had it 3 years though....not sure how long the warranty is?? I have also just acquired a row of dead pixels about 5 pixels/6 pixels in length....would this also suffice an RMA?

New fix ! shake monitor while bashing it on desk ! will get rid, but monitor will no longer work. Just need a fix for smashed monitor now ;)

It's actually pretty easy to take the panels apart and get the bugs out providing you take your time and have all the necessary gloves/cloths etc to not leave huge smear marks all over it.
