So im speccing my first gaming build
i5 2500k
p8p67 pro
8gigs ram
HX 750W psu
24inch 1080p monitor
etc

and when trying to decide on a graphics card my thoughts have gone(over about a month) as follows

"hmm, ill go conservative, ill get a 560, then get another if i need it"

"hmm, 560ti's have good reviews, i may as well pay the extra...."

"ooh, that 570 looks nice, a little more, but what the hell...."

and now i just saw a review of a 580twinfrozr II, and its pretty. and shiney. and i want one. help me :(

tons, pretty hardcore gamer, metro 2033, crysis 1/2, etc + skyrim and BF3 when they come out. Tbh, on reflection the 570twinfrozr III looks like such a bargain at the moment i think thats the way to go

Since you have listed hardcore games, I have to mention this:

If you can't wait for the 28nm cards, then get a card with at least 1.5GB vram I suggest, in case you wanna get another one for SLI/CF in the future. If you get a card with little vram, you cut your way of adding another for SLI/CF. Howver if you decide to go for a single card scheme, then you might consider getting a 560 or 570, then sell it when the 28nm cards are out.

thanks for the input but i think im still gonna go with the 570twinfrozrIII, its a bargain at the current price and i just cant justify spending £100-£150 more for a 580 when it wont be THAT much better. feel free to correct me :p

This card is simply amazing. Quality is top notch and it will overclock high as hell. got mine running at 1000core and 4800memory. Temperature never goes above 80c while gaming with 100% core utilization.
LOL..........But It costs £100 more then this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-020-PN&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1812

Op if your going buy a GTX 580 then go for the cheapest one...PNY GTX 580 £344.99 inc VAT ;)
