So I have completed my new pc build with the EVGA GTX 480 from ocuk and installed the forceware 285 drivers that came with the driver disc. First I use the mini hdmi to hdmi cable to connect to my Samsung 32inch TV 5 series and the image is all messed up the colors are all wrong the image is very jaggy and I have to use the Nvidia control panel to change the screen size to make it fit so I end up with really weird resolutions. so i think forget this im going back to VGA so I take out my VGA cable which is connected to a ASUS DVI to VGA converter that I used with my old gaming system which was also connected to this tv.

Now on 1920x1080 the image looks very crisp and clear expect for parts of the screen which look blurry. Litterly a sentence that starts in one part of the screen with crisp and clear words will turn blurry by the end of the sentence with muddy words that tire your eyes.
When you turn down the resolution to say 1680x1050 the image will be smaller than the tv screen and everything looks blurry. I changed the adapter to the EVGA one that came with the GPU (no change) and I changed the VGA cable and all that did was that other parts of the screen now look blurry. I messed with all sort fo settings color ration, aspect ration, different resolutions nothing helps!

Please bear in mind that using this very TV, dvi to vga converter and vga cable my old gaming pc with a asus radeon 4850 had no problems on 1280x768 and the entire image was crisp and clear.

How can I fix this weird issue?

On the TV, rename the input to PC and it will sort it on the HDMI connection

the vga is recognized as PC by the TV while any connection via hdmi is recognized as hdmi 1 or 2 or 3. how would i rename it?

I Just updated to 296 drivers and the problem is still there.:(

Should be a way in the connections bit of the menu on the samsung. I can do it on my 86f, and it's needed to set the input settings right.

It's in the tv settings. You can give the inputs friendly names like or Xbox or sky etc. If you rename it to PC, the display will act more like a monitor than a tv for that input.

Problem has been fixed.:) I'm still on the vga and messed around with the orienation settings of the Tv and now the blurryness has gone.

In BF3 there is blur for moving objects and object in the distance and a softening for things pretty close too like grass 15 meters away but i guess those effect are part of the game.
