Breakfast, lunch and dinner except on Shrove Tuesday when it's pancakes, pancakes and pancakes.:D

So when feeling hungry your day could go like this:

Breakfast
Second breakfast
Elevenses
Brunch
Lunch
Afternoon Tea
High Tea
Supper
Dessert
Last meal

Followed by lots of throwing up. :)

Dinner ladies were at school at dinner time. They were not called lunch ladies.

Mom called me home for tea at tea time with a wailing 'tea's ready!!!'. This signalled my evening meal was ready, not that she had just brewed up.

Yes I'm a Northerner and proud.

This

mam shouting down street "TEA IS READY"

My little girl has;

breakfast
lunch
tea
supper.

She has tea at dinner time because her tea isn't cooked. If it was, she would have dinner ;)

Easy :)

This thread is still going? It's breakfast, dinner/lunch and then tea!

How can dinner be the meal you have in the evening? Surely dinner is at 12:00, hence dinner ladies at schools and dinner time/lunch time (at 12:00...).

Northerner from America?

Always been;

Breakfast > > Lunch > > Tea

I sometimes call Lunch, Dinner, whatever takes my fancy for that day :p

Pancake

Dinner is the main hot meal so can be either

Breakfast - lunch - dinner (so it would be this one 90% of the time)
Or
Breakfast - dinner - tea

I just love how people justify their argument (quite incorrectly I might add) that it must be dinner at LUNCH because dinner ladies are called dinner ladies.

Dinner is an evening meal, end of.

Lunch is served at lunch.

Just because it is what you have grown up with doesn't make it right.
