I have bought .............

If you look at the 'extreme tweakers' section in the bios it should say near the top how many MHz is running at. if it still says 2.66 then its not been overclocked. Thats if your bios is similar to mine ofcourse, my mobos is an Asus aswell.

I dont have extreme tweakers section - I do have AI Tweaker but it does not list GHZ of cpu in there. It says 2.66Mhz under main I believe.

Hi omaragha,

welcome to OcUK forums! :)

download:

CPU-z

Core Temp

Prime95

None of them needs to be installed, just unzip them to a folder and run them direct!

CPU-z will show you lots of useful info on your set-up, you may notice the CPU frequency changes depending or load or not (don't worry) . . . Core temp will show the temps of your chip ranging from low idle to high load . . . Finally when you run Prime95, just tell it your stress testing and click ok to run the default Blend test . . . . after a few seconds your system will be running at full speed, getting nice and hot and everything you need to know will be shown to your in both CPU-z and Core temp!

Leave Prime95 running for as long as possible to make sure your system is fairly robust!

It should say 2.66 in the main. have a look around the tweaking section, it should say the actual clock speed. Even at bootup where it starts counting the memory it should say there too. If not then it might not be clocked. if u can give me a digital picture of your tweaking section, i might b able to help you.

Have followed Waynes guide and it still says 2.66GHZ in CPUZ. I have spoken with OCUK support and they said just got into BIOS and press F12, where they have a profile.

I will try when I get home !

Same happened to me i got the 4ghz i5 bundle. Mine is only running at stock so i am going to let it bed in for a few weeks then apply the ocuk bios profile think it might be windows7 that unclocks it not too sure.

I don't think Windows 7 does that. It's probably because:
1. They haven't done it
2. Bios has been reset...

I think the second one.

It must have reset itself as i didn't reset it on my new build. I have to check that there is a saved profile but i was assured there was while i was on the phone to them. Even if there isn't it won't be a problem self clocking.

If anyone has any trouble just drop tech a call or post in the RMA/Tech support customer support forum and we can sort it out in no time. :)

No need to wait for it to bed in, ramp it up now ;)

for safe keeping you should write down the settings in the event you flash your bios in the future, lose your bios or any other reason you might lose the profile.
