hey guy's i have just ordered 4x1gb ddr pc3200 and i will be replacing the 2x256 and 1x512. i already have do you think i will see a marked improvment in performance in game's such as fear or c&c 3 or sup com.
cheers vance

Your sig says you're building a new computer soon. Why did you buy 4Gb of DDR ram?

You should see a decent improvement in those games, yes, although your CPU and graphics card will be the major performance limiters.

well im waiting for the intel price drop in july so i can get a quad cpu and i have just purchased vista home premium so i wanted some extra ram to play with till my new build comes along, and ram is so cheap at the mo ddr is a steal as its old tech.
And i wanted to have a better play exp on sup com and cnc3.
cheers vance
oh and i went for the 4gb as i wanted to use the duel memory not single :D

I will be buying new ram for the new buld and keeping this comp for spare internet things like that.
tbh the ddr ram was so cheap i didnt lose much money when it comes to the new build.

No offence to OP but that looks like a completly useless purchase

2gb is more than enough and runs at tighter timings which is much more important for AMD cpus. Running 4 sticks will slow down your timings and 1 of your sticks will be wasted because the OS can't use it.

Possible to cancel order? I know I would.

the ram cost me £30 on ebay auction.
i have a pentium 4 3gig oc to 3680mhz not an amd do you still think it would make much difference i bought the ram as a bulk load so i cant cancel but i will see how it goes i dont have to put in the 4gb i can leave it at 2gb i will do a test see what its like if i get better results with the 2gb i will sell the other two on ebay no biggie.

Same as above really. Especially as ddr isn't what I would call "cheap". And no in a few days time when the price cuts arrive and you build your new rig you won't notice any difference at all :p

Jesus, talk about negative.

£30 for 4GB of RAM is an absolute bargain!

You'll notice a big difference, but as said 2GB would have also been enough, maybe you could sell 2GB and make your £30 back :)

my god,

just answer the mans question instead of questioning why he bought the ram.

yes you should notice a massive difference after increasing your ram as much as you have. more ram = faster computer.

good luck. :D
