Hey.

I bought my wife a 3D printer for xmas, the bambu lab A1 mini, she does a lot of craft stuff and this makes natural sense. She already has a cricut machine, so this is the next natural progression.

Anyway, I have used it as much as her, so I bought myself the bigger bambu labs A1 and that arrived yesterday, so far I'm printing the top mount arm for the AMS lite system (both our A1 mini and A1 has the AMS lite).

I feel rather addicted to it, I'm just printing stuff for the printers at the moment.

Here are our 2 printers.

The A1 mini - you can see I have already printed some drawers for under the printer here :)

And the bigger A1.

For the A1 my area of my office for it is not big enough for both the printer and the AMS, so I'm 75% through the printing of the top mount as mentioned in my first post, should be finished around 11pm.

The AMS lite is just on a plank of wood rest under a heavy duty cutting board from IKEA, just so the AMS is close enough to the printer, but later I will remove the plank and mount the AMS on top, you can see half of the mount is already printed and installed on the top.

I may have also received delivery of a load more filaments aswell today.

Yeah, finally finished the top mount and fitted it all this morning.

A few nice little extras I printed for the printer, first a poop tray in the above image.

Cable clip to hold the cable coming out the right side better.

Top clip to hold the USB/power/data cable away from the print head

Spring tensioners to ensure the USB cable does not get over extended

A bracket to hold the tubing from the AMS to the head is in a safe position.

I bought a P1S in the run up to Black Friday, 3D printing addiction is definitely a problem.

I’ve done a 1.1mx1.1m tool wall using the multi board system. It’s not finished yet but it’s looking quite impressive.

I’ve just also acquired a IKEA BROR workbench with draws so I’ll be breaking out the gridfinity system for that shortly.

I’m also going to break out some PETG and ABS to have a go with on some bits that would benefit from more strength.

I think I’ve got about 30 reels of filament in stock now :p

Funny you say that. Is it this one? https://makerworld.com/en/models/486153?from=search#profileId-584752

I've just started this print myself. Already got the sensors for temp and moisture sat on my desk waiting for the printing to be done.
Yep that's the one. I also got some PTFE tube to aid the filament coming out of it as some people said it would get stuck coming directly through the printed guide holes.

If you expand the profiles to the right you will see the print called "AMS Lite Top Mount coin slot screw"

Can never have enough plastic. Let's ignore Greta!

Multiboard and Gridfinity are on my todo list as well :)

Multiboard stack worked really well in my x1c with ironing. I've just finished a stack of gridfinity that someone uploaded to makerworld and that didn't work well, I got a lot of warping but it didn't happen until halfway through, then the occasional plate warped. I'm not sure if it's the aux fan being on or what but of the 16 grids, 9 are OK, a couple are not too bad and 5 are for the bin. First disaster. It also took 9h so I think I'm future I'll just do the stacking in the sliver myself and only print a few at a time.

I'd put money on the aux fan, disable it on big flat prints.

My printer is set up in the garage and I just have it off for all prints at the moment as its quite cold and aux fan causes more problems than it solves when its cold out.

I used the stacked multiboard prints, I was doing 4 at a time and they worked out great. It doesn't really speed it up but hitting print on a 16 hour job instead of 4x4 hour jobs is a lot less hassle.

Damn it. No swapmod for the A1 yet. Possibly another team is doing the design for one :(

If I ever have a need to do batches of prints I'll end up buying an A1 mini :D
