Hi,

I have just ordered a new rig -

Ryzen 3700x
MSI Mag Tomahawk wifi X570
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-29200C18 3600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER Gaming OC 3X 8192MB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card

i am happy with the CPU and MOBO but unsure about the RAM and GPU. Is what i have chosen OK? I was 50/50 with Gigabyte vs ASUS. with RAM unsure around 16gb/32gb (future proofing) and if Corsair is ok or not. Its been a very long time since i did this.

Before people ask i dont have an existing GPU to use till the 3000 series comes out.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Thanks for that.

the guys at OC are fab and i suppose I can ask for them to change the config for me - Ill ask to switch to the ASUS GPU and save myself some money.

if the Corsair is ok I’ll stick to that, I don’t plan to change to the Ryzen 4000 series for a while so think that would be fine. Tempted with the saving to go for the 32gb RAM option. They’ve already said I can do that.

see what they say about the GPU.

All good parts you’ve picked. Can tell you’ve read through the forums :p

Corsair RAM is good, but if want to slightly future proof more. This kit can OC to 4000MHz+ so be helpful for Ryzen 4000 CPUs.

GPU it’s a good one but this Asus one is on offer and has a higher stock overclock.

I think you've linked the graphics card twice, I'd be interested in knowing about that memory too!

I'm using that exact same Corsair memory with no issues whatsoever, so you'll be good on that.

I'd pay the tenner more for the Gigabyte simply for the customer support on the off chance I'd have to RMA at some point tbh. Gigabyte is UK based and has a great track record in this respect, you also get a 4 year warranty vs the 3 of the Asus. Asus customer support is absolutely dire, it puts me off their products entirely.

If you're not bothered about needing good customer service you might as well save £50 and get this:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £449.99 (includes shipping: £0.00)
