The struggle is real.

Okay I'm new here so please excuse my noobness.

I'm fairly new [completely new] to overclocking and watercooling.

Build:
Motherboard: Asus p8z77-v LX2
CPU: Intel i7 2600k
RAM: Crucial 8GB
GPU: GeForce 650 Ti
Cooling: Swiftech h220x

I have been reading various guides, tutorials and information about overclocking but I still cannot come to grips with it.

Currently I have the BCLK set to 105, and multiplier set to 41. The CPU is at 4303.04 MHz. The CPU Voltage is offet and everything else is set to auto.
I've run IntelBurnTest on Maximum though I have no idea what the results mean:

Time(s) - Speed - Results:
169.262 - 85.8330 - 3.377692e-002
165.402 - 87.8365 - 3.377692e-002

HWMonitor shows Max core temps for Cores 0, 1, 2 and 3 at 58, 67, 69, and 64 respectively (centigrade).

Now, previously I was trying using guides and tables on various websites to manually set CPU Voltage (btw I couldn't find VCore anywhere in the BIOS) but I always got BSOD when stress testing.

Should I just leave everything as it is now? I though offset can cause the CPU to request too much voltage or something...I don't really understand.

If anyone can provide any settings that might work or any form of guidence I would greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks.

Offset voltage is so that the voltage ramps up and down automatically yet still allows you to get decent volts when max'd out. Obviously you have to be careful to get this value correct or you may overshoot your target. It's a tuning process to find the sweet spot.

Personally, I would have left the BCLK at 100 for stability. Opinions differ.

What is your use for this PC? If it's gaming, I would seriously consider just upgrading your low spec graphics card.

Thanks for the info mate.

I'll drop the base (lol) back to 100 and change the multipler to 43.

Currently offset it set to auto. Should I manually tune this? How would u know what voltage I need + or -?

Also the PC is used to run VMS, simulations, and watch films lol. I play the odd game occasionally but I'm not arsed about graphics hence the crappy gpu.

Also my fans are set to intake over the radiator at the top of the case, and rear fan is exhaust. However the case is really crap and the only intake fan is at the front for the hard drives. So there is no airflow. Would it be better to intake from the rear and exhaust the rad?
