Hey, here is my system spec:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.16GHz
Asus Maximus Extreme Intel X38 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
Corsair 4GB DDR3 DHX 1600C7DHX Twin3X (2x2GB)
OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)


I have had this system for just under a week, so last night I decided to crank it up to 4GHz, it did this with no problems, when I went to bed I left Prime95 running and when I got up in the morning one core had errored after 36 minutes.

Is this a problem? I can run games without crashing or the system freezing...

You wanna make sure it is stable for at least 2 hours under prime95/orthos usually, tinker the voltages and ram timings etc some more. Then try running prime95 again.

I think i needed to up my volts to 1.38 (under load in os) to get 4.1GHz stable in my rig.
