(im guessing you cant):( thought id just ask on the off chance :( dont really fancy forking out another £10 on a game that im not sure if i like -_-

gutted - I bought the enhanced edition at the start of the year for twice the price of standard, not realising I could simply patch the standard.

i nearlly did the same :'( had the enhanced edition in the steam basket lol :(

I bought the Enhanced Edition in a Steam sale aaaaages ago, only just got around to starting it.

Its pretty good, I haven't encountered the glitches I've seen people moaning about, it is a tad serious though, there isn't much in the way of humour that you see in some other RPG style games.

Its not a million miles an hour but the action is quite good, somewhere between point and click and full control.

So do you think an FPS player will enjoy this?

Is it fast paced, without too much talking and meandering/exploring around the world?

I don't think you would get on well with The Witcher.

It's quite slow burning and I feel you would end up being bored before it gets into the better chapters.

the retail enhanced ed has some nifty additions, a short novel, a guide to the game, making of dvd and soundtrack cd.

are you telling me these arent available as downloads with the digital version? thats quite shocking if true.

lol Just re-installed the Witcher this morning!

Anyway, I found that Fileplanet download did not work, so I downloaded from fileshack - much faster speeds as well.

All the patches are here

You will need to download:

The Witcher Original to Enhanced Edition Patch
The Witcher Original to EE English Language Pack
The Witcher EE: The Price of Neutrality Module
The Witcher EE: Side Effects Module

Put these in the same folder and just run the Enhanced edition patch, this will then also install the language pack and the Modules as well as long as they are in the same folder. Then install the 1.5 patch

I then also added some mods:

The Full Combat Rebalance mod here
The scabbard mod here
The perfect rain mod here

Loads of mods on this link though that you may also want to apply.

Enjoy - amazing game. Now I have to complete it before the sequel comes out next year! Never did get it all done the first time round.
