i hope easyjet don't read this

Its was most likely an April Fools, and reported on The Register a few weeks later.

Doesn't take a genius to figure it wouldnt work. At least not in this country with all the aviation regulations anyway.

Its true, it was in the daily mail yesterday including pictures, aparently the asian airlines japan air and nippon air are thinking about it

I saw a similar prank in a broadsheet years ago. They said that traditional seating was going to be changed to simple wooden benches, and stewardesses were to be replaced with a communal tea-urn.

I saw 2 A380's the other day when i landed at Toulouse airport, thats where they are built i think, they had this big Airbus hangar there with 2 sitting outsite.

Anyway, on topic, As someone else said, I really dont think would ever happen, imagine if it crashed, human stew!

It must surely be a load of tosh. What about the extra weight of the additional passengers and their luggage?
They will be removing the seats which will go a long way to making up the difference.

Yes, but then replacing them with a stand-up variant that will have its own weight too.

I don't see why this would be such a bad idea on short-haul flights? Aside from the regulations not allowing it, it would make flights ridiculously cheap. Someone mentioned what would happen if the plane crashed...I tend to think that if the plane crashes, chances are you are going to die, regardless of the safety stuff on the airplane?
