A Denon 1610 AVR for 240 pounds. I know little about Home Cinema - was this an ok buy? I have some semi decent speakers, and first impressions are pretty good.

I bought a 1910 a little while ago but was disappointed with build quality and the GUI compared to my Harmon Kardon AVR255. The Denon did have better presence compared to the HK which is a bit soft.

I am however in a minority as Denon are very well liked.

HK stuff is generally built like tanks though

That said my old AVR-2805 is also very well built.
