supporting Red Sparowes on their UK tour are Made out of Babies. i hadnt heard anything of them before i saw them, and they're absolutely, totally, completely amazing. if you're into metalcore even a little bit, then listen to this band and buy their album because it'll take your head off.

there's a couple of tracks to download from their site (192kbps, too \o/) to give you a taster before you rush out to buy the album. also, less of the "omg this is crap" posts from you indie obsessees. thanks.

It all sounds a bit messy to me. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but only a C for effort on the first listen.

The guitar tone sounds exactly like Quicksand to me but sadly nothing else about it is as good ;)

Sorry mate not really my taste, I'm not a fan of talky vocals let alone female talky vocals.

They sound alright. Will see if I can catch them today when I see Red Sparowes. What time did they come on when you saw them Jasper? And when did Red Sparowes start playing? Just so I can maximise my time in the pub beforehand :p

I thought they were really good live, lots of energy and a huge sound, especially the drummer who was really punishing his kit (a rental apperently which he didn't get on with!).

The album stuff however doesn't really grab me. It's pretty good, but not nearly as intense as the live show and it doesn't seem to carry anything like the same impact either.

Red Sparowes however were and are every bit as good on record. Their closing track (also the closing track from their album At The Soundless Dawn) was incredible, easily one of the best pieces of live music I've ever heard played. You know that fuzzy warm feeling you get when listening to your favourite song? I had that for a good couple of minutes.
