I just got a Macbook Pro!

Congrats :) Enjoy it - you'll never look back to that PC rubbish. Typing this on my Unibody Macbook 13 inch 26 months old. She's still going lovely :)

Says the guy with a custom overclocked PC and bootcamped MBP in his sig!

Go on, say it, "I only use it for games" :p

Great machine. Pop an SSD in there at some point in the future and you'll have a super machine.

Was thinking about doing that, typing on it at moment, and its loverly, shame I'm confused with the OS haha, also the mouse pad seems abit tricky with it being all in 1 kinda thing

You'll get used to the trackpad very quickly. Read up on the gestures and you'll soon wonder how you lived without it.

:) I only use it for games !!! Lol..... :)

Serious, can't stand PC's anymore. The rig in my sig is for my VM's only for my work and OU study and I'll admit there is some stuff you've got to run on Windows (like FSX :) ). But I'd wish I didn't have to !

I think this will be the only thing I've ever had too read a manual for :p, got any tips for apps and such for it?, also I only went into the shop for a netbook and came out with this :D

Enjoy, and without a shadow of a doubt get an SSD in it, mech HDD slow down any computer and I firmly believe everyone should have an SSD in any new computer.

Once you get used to it, the trackpad might just become the thing you love the most. I think the premium you pay for a MacBook is worth it for the trackpad alone.

I'm just quietly waiting for the prices of 500GB SSD's to go down low enough, THEN it'll be time to get it in my MBP :D

I'm already getting used too it, just finding its better to use 1 finger at a time when it comes to clicking and scrolling

Whats amazing is how an 'old' computer feels and works with an SSD in it, HDD's have hindered new computers for years imo. I have a HDD simply because I can't afford one, but I've had experience with my MBA as to how well SSD's work they are a god send.

It could be, but I like rational, fair and well thought out opinions, and that is not one.

I have been using pc hardware and microsft for 25 years nearly and done msce certifications and others. Windows too clunky imo, put Linux on PC hardware and it flys. And thats my considered opinion. Not a particular fanboy and I like to consider stuff on its merits. I like unix and Linux too. But rgarding OP, good on him. I hope he loves his MBP experience and the fast natured, unclutered feel of his MAC and OSX as uch as I do.

I do gotta admit it seems even faster then my i7 740QM Dell L501x, just a shame the @ key isn't in the right place :p (but this keyboard is loverly)

I can't really comment on which OS I personally prefer because I've only had OS X for a few hours and I've never really used Linux
