I just bought a 98 S reg Mondeo 2.5 V6 Ghia X with Full ford service history and 168k miles on the clock for £1245 after driving it home i now look like this :D hehehehehe the v6 sounds so nice :D

Sounds like a good price to me (don't know if it is or not).

Place your bets now for how long it'll take Fox to post (might've been quicker if the title was "I just bought a Mondeo").

Lol! I thought that as soon as I read the title!! Where are the pics! :)

aha, stole number 9, you lose zip - Fox is doing his BMW loving thing at the moment anyway, i'd expect a post from him to come much later ¬_¬!

V6's always sound nice.. get some pictures up ! :D

Very nice. I bought a very similar car last week (a 1999 Cougar V6 X-Pack) and it's marvellous. Thirsty, but makes a lovely noise and overtakes without any effort. Hope you enjoy yours.

I would have posted sooner but I was actually out pointlessly driving my Mondeo. Had a simple 20 mile journey to complete, took 70 miles in the end, went via the moors. So much fun. Hit the redline a few times, can't believe I never do that much, so great :p

Such a nice handling car, so obviously, with more power, you'll love your new toy :)

Shame really if the Cougar was a Mondeo the same age and spec it'd be pretty much the same to drive but.. half the price.

So true. But I've always liked their styling. And I have previously owned a mk2 mondeo (was 3-4 years ago, most recent car was a saxo VTR. Suddenly other road users treat me with a little respect. Wonder why?!)

Paid £5000, but bear in mind it's only done 39,000 (and I live in the Isle of Man where cars cost a bit more!)

Nice looking clean cougar. Only done 39,000 and its a 1999, not bad indeed. Glad you like it. Something I would not of thought of getting if I was to spend £5000 though...

Well originally I was thinking of something like a Nissan 200sx. Until I realised that, in the Isle of Man, we dont have many smooth straight roads, certainly no motorways, and we DO have lots of rain. I would be dead!
And the Cougar is sensible enough to keep the wife happy, yet interesting enough to keep me happy.

You'll enjoy it a lot more in a 6 pot BMW mate, I also never bothered with the red line in my old 4 pot 318i (or many of my other cars for that matter) alas, for my fuel bill, I just love the sound of my M52 - 6 screaming! :D ;)
