In Vista...

It's only the second one ever, in the two machines and the four years (amalgamation of both machines) i've had the full version...

Just goes to show how stable vista really is compared to XP!:p

(Why it did it I don't know, just hope it doesn't do it again...)

Yeah, pointless thread I know, but it just suprised me. How many has everybody else had?

I haven't had a blue screen in a long time, and if I did it was due to bad overclocking.

I hate that windows get's such a bad rep for BSOD, even in XP I rarely ever had a BSOD. As long as you're not an idiot and have a good PC it's no problem.

i've had BSODs a plenty in vista. and they're most definitely microsoft's fault too. if i forget to install the manufacturer drivers for my network card (some realtek jobby) then i'll get a BSOD with the built in drivers provided by microsoft. this has has happened on more than once occasion. also if i accidentally let windows update install drivers, then the audigy2 drivers MS provide also cause BSODs galore. using the drivers direct from creative, not a single problem.

so it's not the OS at fault but simply the drivers MS provides.

When I bought my laptop, 18 months ago, it would BSOD regulary (couple of times a week) but then after one update they stopped completely. Never did find out the cause. Thats one thing that could be improved, better descriptive text as to what the issue is.
