*I just experienced near death. Think the people in the office got abit of a shock when I shouted "****!"

lol.

Wasnt a pleasent experience

Anyone else had any similar experiences? did you see a light?

I was climbing a metal lader and went to hand my dad an extension cable to put the attic light on the ladder was onthe cable and me being young and stupid i yanked the plug thinking it was something light lying on it riped the plug off and was left holding the wires and yess it was pluged in shot down the lader screamijng absenitys.

my pal was cutting his hedge one day and cut the cable he went in and i shouted is it odff yet yes as i grabed the cable to twist the wires to put them into chocolate block grabed the wire and screamed Yah ****er and took off accross the garden.

you deffinately feel the muscles spasaming up and feel like its pulling you

To me it felt like a huge bang in my head and then the noise that you hear when you are flashbanged on counter strike, and i was on the floor with my heart beating like crazy

I have one of those electric fly swatters.

I had to see how much it hurt if putting a finger to it.

Arm was dead for ages.

Got a shock of a transformer on a desk lamp when I was younger. Wasn't nice :o

You sure it didn't affect your ability to write coherently?

Never heard of a RCD?

When I was smaller (Megadrive age) I once plugged in a bare plug into the socket and touched the fuse. I recall a fuzzy feeling, it never hurt it just felt like my whole hand was a big massive vibrator or something for *** time my finger was attached to the fuse! It's probably a good thing I didn't retry it :p

Mine felt like a large amount of electrical current running up my left arm when i took the plug out, I dont know if i reached under the plug and touched the metal contact but it bloody hurt!

i stuck my finger in the light bulb things on the ceiling! pushed the pins in and got a shock!

it was fun lol though i doubt id do it again lol

My son still thinks he survived a 250,000 volt shock, on one of those machines in an amusements somewhere where you grab the handles and it vibrates in increasing intensities. On the screen the voltage meter goes up by 10,000 every 3 seconds or something. He's now 22 and still thinks it was really 250,000 volts. Pratt.

I've had about 3 shocks in my lifetime, from either faulty equipment or just being careless. Felt to me like I was paralysed, muscles spasming, hearing gone, vision nearly gone, complete numbness all over. Severe migraine followed for the next few days. I found it quite relaxing now that I think about it. Something to consider next time I'm under stress.

On holiday in spain with folks (I was 10 or 12), went for a shower and whilst standing in the bath with the shower running ( turned the light on!... Not a Pull-cord like we have but a normal switch!!... it felt like someone was whacking my arm with a base ball bat!!.. :(

I touched an electric fence once. Felt like someone thumped me in the small of the back, really hard. Was such an odd feeling.
What did yours feel like?

Touched one!!!... I Pee'd on one late one night (a bit drunk, I was 20ish).. Felt like I'd been kicked in the nuts repeatedly!!... Sobered me up though!! :D

You need a combination of voltage and amperage to kill you. 25,000 volts from a stun gun won't kill you, buy 240v with high current will (mains)

You sir, should have paid more attention to why we have pull cords :p

I was removing some old phone/telly wires from a friend's house (helping them decorate), cut through the cable for the outside light by accident.

Blew a chunk out of the knife but I was fine \o/

I cut across two phases of a three phase supply when stripping out a factory.
The blast put me from the ladder on to the ground in around half a second.
I had copper coating all the way up my arm to my elbow which stayed there for a few weeks.
No shock given though, if it had I'd be in a wooden box.

It turned out the previous owners of the factory allowed the block next door to run cables in their building, I had isolated the building I was working in but next door was still operational.

Fun times.
