on a different note from the recent gtx 260/280 marlarky, i found this thing on the nvidia website(while checking drivers) a bit of a laugh :rolleyes:

The laughs on you as far as the scaling goes - 8500GT in SLI will give you close to double or as good as double the performance in most cases...

As far as gaming performance tho... 2x 8500GT in SLI even running massively (+80%) overclocked still only clock in about the same performance as a 7900GT.

8500GT SLI is totally and utterly pointless tho - for only slightly more money than for the 2 cards you can buy a single card that is over 2.5x faster.

yes at the time the 8600gts was fine...i had one . but 8500 in sli ? is there a worse combo? for same price or less 7900 or 7800 all the way.

Lol what a waste, surely for the price of two 8500s you can get a better single card. i must say i like the Falcon Northwest Fragbox on that page - quite a cool case.
