My steam library is sitting in a separate drive.

I believe there is q simple method to get steam to pick up your old library.

I could probably work it out myself but i don't want to **** this up- enlighten me?

All your games are in the steam apps folder so if you download the steam client on your new drive and then copy over the steam apps folder it should be ok.
When you start the games up they will start to install any missing bits and if there are any more issues just verify the ones with issues. This is what I did and it saved me downloading all the data again for the games.
Make sure you have your windows user files (like my games) copied over aswell as they contain all your saves etc. Theres also a user data file in your steam directory.
Theres probably an easier way to do this but this is the way I did it and it worked.

Just run steam.exe from the drive it's currently sitting on.

No need to download it, no need to reinstall it, no need to copy anything over - just double click it.
