Haha. Thing is that the 290's hash better if you can keep temps under control. If it is mining without concern for noise, can just set the 100% fan speed and it will only sound like a bumble bee's buzz when you are in your office 8 miles from home.
 
Prices are getting ridiculous. At this rate il have to wait for a while before I can afford to buy a new graphic card. Wanted to buy a 280x, il just have to play the waiting game now.
 
whats happened to the stock R290s ? I can only see Sapphire ones now - wheres Gigabyte, Asus etc - or are we on the verge of a new set of "different" (:) ) cards ?

But miners cards of choice is 7950, 7970, 7990 and 290 series.
