i.Link / Firewire Cables

Got my self a camcorder to play with an obviously I want to transfer the video onto my PC to edit. Being a sony it says it has an i.Link port.

Reading up I think I've found that i.Link is really a renamed 4-pin 'firewire' port. Hence since I need a cable to transfer to my PC do I get a (mini) 4-pin to 6-pin cable? Correct?

Yes ilink is the name Sony use to refer to Firewire.It would most probably be a 4 pin on the camcorder and a 6 pin on the pc, so 4-6 pin is what you would need,but make sure it is long enough to reach from the port on your pc to the camcorder.
