Im home from uni and therefore using my 5 year old Dell...woohoo. Thought I would download CPUZ for a laugh.
Im running a P4 codenamed Northwood at 2500 mhz with a multi of 19...19!!! I only got into the whole self building thing with C2D so this seems ridiculous! I also have a huge 512kb of L2 cache.

My RAM is even better. 256mb of PC2300 running at 132.9mhz (1:1 ratio) 2 3 3 6 timings...if only I could get that with my Ballistix!

That would have been a decent system i its day, and that wasn't that long ago. The P4 Northwood was IMO the pick of the lot. The original P4 Willamette was naf, and the newer one (I forget the name) ran far too hot. Some Northwoods had HT too! And DDR 266 memory, nice. You could get some very tight timings on DDR1 memory, I had some mushkin DDR400 stuff with BH-5 chips that with enough voltage would do 5-2-2-2.

That my son is not old hardware, thats practically new! I still have an old 386dx system in the loft, no idea what I could use it for so it just sits gatherihng dust. I can't bring myself to throw it away.
