I love these menu rollouts

Unfortunately yes - as soon as you disable Javascript that area of the site becomes unusable. On a site that's actively promoting their supposed level of accessibility, it's really quite laughable. Simply repeating the same navigation categories down the left-hand columns smacks of lazy developers who couldn't be bothered to come up with a better solution for navigation to get their little accessibility badge.

ugh, when are people going to stop using those horrible menu systems!? they're ugly, and they're not universal. there's so many better ways to do it

also, unknowndomain, thanks for the explanation as to why that doesnt work in safari :)

A simple list of links down the left hand column to be honest!

It can still look very nice.
Im a fan of simplicity now after my recent drop down problems with Safari.

Out of interest, what do you think is the best kind of menu system with have multiple levels?

CSS suckerfish menu's are quite nifty. Google those keywords if you're interested.
