I Love Vista :D

Im sure this has been pointed out elsewhere... repeatedly? :p

Tad of a difference though between using a 3 in stead of an e etc in my name, and calling yourself.... gah, nevermind too off topic now.
But more than happy to change it if it bugs anyone.

Back on topic, as everyone has said, nothing to do with Vista, sort out your drivers, and leave Mr Gates alone.

Sort of off topic, but when you receive a windows vista dvd, is it true that all versions of it are actually on there, and there is absolutely no difference between any of the retail dvd packages, apart from the box art? because a friend of mine bought a system from Smell (God forbid) and swears (with picture proof) that the dvd only asks for a key and vista version selectable in a box.

Is this true? and if so, isn't that a bit silly?

PS. Nothing wrong with game/movie names, you just have to share it with the other several million other fans.

its not the os or the games, its your drivers!

Really?

I didn't even get to that stage without it crashing on me!

I've tried RC1, RC2, Home and Premium, furthest I got through was Premium where I was able to install Chipset drivers without it falling over.

HOPELESS! XP > Vista...

*hugs OSX* :p

No problems with Vista and S.T.A.L.K.E.R for me.

I love it when people make sweeping judgements about things based on nothing but their own disjointed personal experiences.

I am very happy with Vista as well, it runs better than XP ever did for me, it runs smoother, games still run with very high framerates (never understood why people complain of "only" getting 89fps when the human eye can only comprehend a max. of 60fps  ).
I love the games folder, frees up space on my desktop and it downloads info and covers for me, even picked up my obscure copy of the Punisher game :D .
The live thumbnails is brilliant as well, instead of having to open photos/videos you can just scroll over them with your mouse, love it!
Driver support was never an issue for me, Ati had drivers out for release, still waiting for some good creative drivers, but that has NOTHING to do with microsoft, creative has just been slacking off.
Vista does try and help though, bought an obscure brand scanner today (pcline or something), install cd refused to work, but Vista found drivers automatically on the cd instead, I was well impressed!
@ OP, blame Nvidia for your crashes and their crappy drivers, I was going to buy a GTX but won't give Nvidia a cent as long as Vista drivers aren't sorted :p

lol at this thread :D ah I love reading these forums ;P

To stay on topic tho, I've been using Vista for a while now. S.T.A.L.K.E.R worked fine for me aswell as Oblivion, no problems. I've only had one stress out with Vista and that was when I was messing with GFX drivers and RivaTuner

To the people that Vista crashes on during installation / out of games etc. ( someone correct me if i'm wrong lol ) but it might... might!! be your RAM voltage. Everyone knows most motherboards put lower voltage's through your RAM at stock, and Vista is a lot more heavy with the RAM than XP and everything is...
My friend's PC kept BSOD during the Vista install untill he up'ed his voltage on the RAM to the required amount. << totaly correct me if i'm wrong

But it's a hell of a coincidence
